I am your tour guide and I wish to give you the true Pleasure Island experience; shared with the glee of a tourist, seasoned with the lessons of a local. You will find everything you want to know about the lifestyle, the people and “living the good life” at the beach. The stories and tips you will find through out these pages are gleaned from years of first hand knowledge.
My name is Bella and I live on Pleasure Island with my fabulous boyfriend and our three cats. I love Carolina Beach and I have since the very first time I came here on a visit, before I moved here for good. I thought I would share this little island with the rest of the world-show it the way I see it-beautiful and sloppy and old, but charming and wonderous. The entire Cape Fear area is steeped in history, but with such potential for the future.
My goal for this site is that it will be used by travellers searching for a destination, by newcomers who have just moved to our area and also by locals looking for information on new businesses and events; I plan to be a “tourist in my own home town” to use a quote from our Chamber of Commerce. My inspiration for this project is my desire to enjoy this area to it’s fullest and experience all it has to offer while building my online business.
The posts will reflect personal opinions based on first hand experience rather than advertising and should have alot of value from that perspective.

Bella, this is a wonderful website. I just love the “local twist” you put on the island life. I, myself, used to be a local about 10 years ago and my dad still lives in CB. Worked in Wilmington as a travel agent for 6 years and just loved it. My fave’s are Key West, Cabo San Lucas, and Gatlinburg….
hopefully I will be able to meet you one day… I have so many great stories and experiences; just unable to write them here.

Hi Bella,
I was just browsing and found your site. My husband and I have been “island” hopping for about 7 years now and this is going to be our first experience on CB. I was wondering could you let me know where my husband could find homemade style taffy. He just loves the stuff and is nervous that the island won’t have any. Thanks for all your help
